How To Create A Facebook Landing Page
(Static HTML / iFrame Tabs)

On March 11 2011, Facebook started using Iframes for tabs. This is a basic tutorial showing you how to build a Facebook landing page using a application called Static HTML iFrame Tabs (by Jason Padvorac ). It’s easy to use and allows you to add 2 landing pages: 1 for non-fans, and 1 for fans, also called the reveal page.

You need to have your Fan page setup first – read this tutorial

1. Create a call to action image

A really cool trick you can use for the “html” part of this method is that you can create a .jpg file and store it on a server somewhere and then simply link it on the static html iframe tabs application area using just one line of code. This is the line of code that you will be entering in your Static HTML IFrame Application with the appropriate URL link.

2. Add the static HTML: iframe tabs App

The app you need for your custom page is called “static HTML iframe tabs” located here. If you’re logged into Facebook, you can add it to your Page. It is essentially a blank canvas where you can add whatever content you want, including custom images and links via standard HTML.

Make sure and select the dropdown arrow to select the Fan Page That you have already set up.

3. Setup your tab

Once you’ve added the static HTML iframe tabs app, click “Welcome” in the tab menu below your company’s profile image. This will bring up the apps settings.

In the Fan box – just put a link to your image or html code

Below is the sample HTML code to use to embed the image into the application:

(optional Non fans – only content) – this is where your content goes for fans that have not liked your page yet. So you could put something to entice fans to like the page, like my page. Tell them that if they like your page your will reveal the free gift or whatever you want to entice them with to get more information. Something like that.

You can add standard HTML to the page as you would any website, including images, text, links, and other formatting.

Please Note:your images must be hosted elsewhere (on your company’s website, for example) and only referenced in your HTML code. If you dont have web hosting you can host your images at Tinypic.com Or photobucket.com and insert the html code.

4. Change Tab name
If you want to change the tab name, to something more appropriate, like “Special deals,” or latest news,” depending on how you plan to use your Page. Click on “edit info” once you are logged into Facebook as your Fan Page.

You should see a pop up window – Change tab name if you wish.

5. Make it the default landing page

If you want this new tab to be the “face” of your business Fan Page, head back over to your page settings and Click on the “Manage Permissions” select “default landing tab” select your tab and then click on save.

6. How To Add More Tabs
You can add up to 12 welcome tabs. When you are in the static html app, click on “FAQ & Help Center “

Everyone wants more Facebook fans

It’s not fun to only have 2 fans of a fan page. However, getting Facebook fans isn’t always easy if you don’t already have a huge fan base or audience elsewhere. Sure, you can do a search and pay for someone to get targeted fans for you, and have thousands of fans within a few days or so. Likewise large websites like Amazon, and the such would not have a hard time getting fans, since they already have large followings on other social networks.

So how does the average local business, ecommerce site, or person with a hobby grow their Facebook fan page? Through my own marketing site and then Facebook fan page, I’ve learned a few tricks. Listed below are some of those tricks.
  1. Ensure that your posts, fan page, and fan page URL is optimized for popular keywords.
  2. We use the Facebook Like Box, formally known as the Facebook Fan Box. This is an application that you can grab from your Facebook Fan Page settings page and add to the website of your choosing.
  3. Posting links to your latest blog post on your Facebook Fan Page
  4. Facebook Ads. If you hope to send your Facebook fans to your website and convert them to customers, whether through an ecommerce purchase, clicking on an AdSense ad/Affiliate link/advertising banner, or getting them to sign up for your newsletter/email list/etc, spending a few dollars each month to get highly targeted customers is worth it.
  5. Using the WordPress Like Plugin. With the WordPress Like Plugin, the "Like" button shows up after each of your WordPress blog posts
  6. Asking your fans to participate in Facebook Photo Tagging:
    • Take a picture with you/your business/product/something related
    • Upload the picture to your Facebook page
    • Tag themselves in the picture they just uploaded
  7. Using Notes and @replies. Facebook allows tagging within status updates on both profiles and Facebook Pages. The functionality is similar to twitter, in which when you include the "@" symbol in front of someone’s name, the name then becomes clickable and links to that person’s profile.
  8. "Follow Me" on Facebook. At the end of your blog posts, add a clickable link that suggests that if the reader liked the content, they become a fan of yours on Facebook.
  9. Social Media:
    * Promote recent Facebook Page posts via a link on Twitter
    * Ask people to Stumble, Digg, and bookmark your Facebook Page
    * Grab photos from Flickr and post them as a link on your Facebook Page; link from the Flickr
    photo to the Facebook page stating that there is more information about the picture there.
  10. Pay Per Click (PPC) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM): Targeting timely ad groups such as a "holiday gift ideas" or "special discount " linking to a fan page with a coupon only for Facebook fans.
  11. Encourage Comments: Post questions and polls and post timely information to encourage current
    fans to comment, share, and "like" your posts.
  12. Ask your friends to like your fan page from your current Facebook profile under suggesting to friends.
    Click on "Share" underneath any of your Facebook page posts. When you do so, the post will appear as a status update, with the option to write a message, on both your Facebook profile and within the homepage stream of any of your friends. Anyone interested will click thru the post and visit your Facebook page.
  13. Linking to Popular Sites: Linking to sites with high page rank to get higher placement in Search
    Engines.
  14. Linkbuilding: Creating Back links is used to create more authority for your page. The more high
    quality links there are to a site, the more likely that site is to appear
    within the search engines.
  15. Fan Only/Protected: Content Non-fans are able to see teasers of the videos, but to see the rest,
    They will have to click on the video tab, which was only accessible to fans.
  16. Posting regularly so ensure that your fans visit your page often, and become familiar with seeing your
    page in their stream, and you also will reduce the chances of people un liking your page.
  17. Create an optimized landing page for your Facebook Fan Page. to create an additional,
    customizable tab for fans to land on, instead of them just landing on the Facebook Fan Page wall,
    where all they would see is comments and status updates.
  18. Using the advanced search beta 2.2 application to target people from different walks of life, and from different areas of the world.
    Ssend them an invitation to like the page, and describe the benefits of doing such an action.
  19. Using facebook applications such as Networked Blogs to increase page rank, and Search engine
    ranking    s.

Through my thoughts and actions, I strive, daily, to promote the good that exists in our world. In order to be a promoter of good, I make a conscious effort to place my time and energy on those things that bring positive health to me and others.

Today, it is my hope that you will take to heart some of my suggestions. You might find that they will inspire you to get into action on some of the goals that you’ve
been wanting to get done, or it might inspire you to give in a special way. You will find that showing acts of kindness will bring unexpected goodness into your life and the lives of those in your world. Call it karma or the laws of the universe, whatever you give away or share with others comes back to you. There’s nothing like the feeling you get when you are able to help someone else…without the slightest expectation of anything in return. In fact, taking the time to be kind generous and giving can actually be good for your health.

Happiness Is Just A Choice Away!

Kenny and Melissa IngramSome people can claim that there is always something lacking or bothering them in their life. It could be your marriage falling apart, your children giving you a hard time, money matters, or even problems at work robbing you of a peaceful existence.

Sometimes we have valid reasons for feeling discouraged and depressed, like when death, or serious illnesses occur. But too often you don’t have to look further than yourself for the source of happiness.

Maybe it’s time to take a hard look at you. What kind of vibes are you giving off? If it’s negative, then people will react accordingly. Whatever you radiate you also attract into your life. Why not make the choice of attracting goodness into your life?

If you are guilty of radiating negativity, then you will attract negative things into your life. Try determining what really is bothering you, then do something about it. Indulge yourself in some pampering. Go for a message or a beauty treatment, a new hairstyle or color can work wonders for one’s morale. If you are overweight start doing light exercises or go for long walks. Not only will it help you losing weight, it will also clear your head.

Kenny and Melissa IngramMost importantly, accept yourself for who you are. You are a unique human being and you have qualities that nobody else has. Learn to love the person inside you again. Laugh and just be happy and everything else will fall into place. Learn to read inspirational books every day. Program your sub-conscious mind by repeatedly suggesting affirmations to your conscious mind. Write down what your chief objective in life is. Figure out what kind of goals you need to set to achieve that and break them down into daily goals. Once you have figured out your daily goals don’t stop your plan of action, and don’t let anyone steer you away. Don’t get involved with another internet program because the one you are in hasn’t made you rich yet. Be consistent with what you claim yourself to be involved in, and stay persistent.
